Recovering

All the our neighbours (7 adults, 2 next door kids and 3 friends of theirs) moved 2000 bricks from our nice secret garden to driveway. We worked 4 hours yesterday and 3 hours today. Our garden is no longer secret though.



All the schools and most of business are closed in Christchurch and Kaiapoi until Wednesday. The damage was mach worse than it looks. A lot of houses are damaged. A 100,000 houses must be rebuild. A brand new a million dollar house also must be rebuilt.



Good thing is no death! None of at all. I as a Japanese who is from Earthquake country, it is most amazing thing and there are a lot to learn from western constructors. Most of houses are damaged but it didn't kill people. 80% death(6000 people) from Great Hansiain earthquake was by collapsing wooden houses. The quake was M 7.3. Canterbury earthquake was M 7.1.Also we are expecting another big quake.



A lot of people aren't having water nor power still. Many people are crying and shaking. We have so many after shakes every day. Or is it only me my body shaking?



We are very lucky to be alive.
